John Resig is an American computer programmer and entrepreneur, best known as the creator and lead developer of the jQuery JavaScript library.

Career

John Resig currently works as an application developer at Khan Academy.[1] He was a JavaScript tool developer for the Mozilla Corporation. For his work on jQuery he was inducted into the Rochester Institute of Technology's Innovation Hall of Fame on April 30, 2010.[2]

Resig is a frequent guest speaker at companies like Google and Yahoo! and has presented at many conferences related to web technology, including SXSW,[13] Webstock,[14] MIX, and Tech4Africa.[15]

He is also the author of a widely read blog, ejohn.org,[16] and moderates a large number of 'subreddits' on Reddit.

Publications

Resig is the author of the book Pro JavaScript Techniques, published by Apress in 2006.[17][18] As of 2010, he worked on another book for Manning Publications, Secrets of the JavaScript Ninja with Bear Bibeault, which the publisher is planning to release in 2012.[19]
