United States District Court for the District of New Jersey
The United States District Court for the District of New Jersey is the Federal district court whose jurisdiction is comprised of the state of New Jersey. It was established in 1789.
The United States Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey represents the United States in civil and criminal litigation in the court. The first United States Attorney for the District was Richard Stockton who later served in the United States Senate and United States House of Representatives. Another United States Attorney for the District was Garet Dorset Wall whom Wall Township was named after also later served in the United States Senate.
