ぬ, in hiragana, or ヌ in katakana, is one of the Japanese kana, which each represent one mora. These syllabary characters for the syllable "nu" are derived ultimately from the Chinese character 奴. Both hiragana and katakana are made in two strokes and both are pronounced like the word "new".
