Argo the Almighty, is a fictional character who appeared in the Marvel Comics' MC2 series A-Next, and son of Hercules.

Fictional character history

The team of A-Next was attacked by a Hispanic youth who identified himself as "Argo the Almighty". Argo quickly proved himself to be a formidable foe, as he shrugged off the sonic thunder blasts of Thunderstrike (who himself had powers drawn from the gods of myth), and easily defeated the unstoppable J2 (son of the Juggernaut). But the other A-Next members combined their powers and were finally able to subdue Argo. Argo was trying to do the "fight-then-team up" strategy that occurred between heroes. J2 was shocked that the fight they endured was a greeting. Argo informed A-Next that he was the son of former Avenger Hercules. Argo was trying to find his missing father, and needed help. Using their S.H.I.E.L.D contacts, they were able to locate Hercules, who was suffering from mental trauma from witnessing an event which nearly destroyed the Avengers. Argo attacked his father, enraged that his father "abandoned" his mother and his son. Argo would have critically injured Hercules, who wasn't fighting back as penance for what he thought were his grievous sins, had not Thunderstrike intervened. When Argo saw tha emotional state his father was in, the two shared a tearful reconciliation. Argo stated that he was going to help his father recover, and try to bring his family back together.

Later, when A-Next was attacked by a rival team of villains (The Revengers), Argo fought valiantly for his friends (along with other allies of A-Next) and when the battle was won, Argo accepted membership in A-Next.

Argo can also be seen fighting Galactus with A-Next in Last Planet Standing.

Powers
