Saturday Night With Miriam is a television chat show which was first broadcast in Ireland on RTÉ One in the summer of 2005. Hosted by Miriam O'Callaghan the show ran for six weeks as a summer filler. The pre-recorded show was broadcast on Saturday nights after the main evening news, lasting approximately 60 minutes.
Saturday Night With Miriam was very much influenced[citation needed] by the British show Parkinson. Each week three guests were interviewed by O'Callaghan. Guests included Charlie McCreevy, Paul Brady, D.J. Carey and Ray D'Arcy. The show proved to be a surprise hit[citation needed] for RTÉ. O'Callaghan, who is a current affairs broadcaster, was praised[citation needed] for her presenting skills and was even named[citation needed] as a possible future presenter of "The Late Late Show", RTÉ's flagship chat show.
The series was also run in summer 2006 and a third series ran in 2007.
The third series saw the show go live for the first time. The third series achieved an audience share of over 40% which was unprecedented during the summer period.[citation needed]
