Introduction

Wells Ellenberg is the Georgia senior senator to the 2008 American Legion Boys Nation conference in Washington, D.C. He is the President Pro Tempore of the American Legion Boys Nation Senate. Wells also serves as the student body president at Frederica Academy on Saint Simons Island, Georgia. Additionally, he is the editor of the Frederica Academy Legend yearbook and captain of the Frederica Academy varsity golf team. In the spring of 2008, the varsity golf team captured Georgia Independent Schools Association (GISA) AA state and region titles.

Background

Joseph Wells Ellenberg was born in Brunswick, Georgia on March 26, 1991. He was delivered at Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center. His parents are John Frank Ellenberg, MD and Brenda Worthy Ellenberg, RN. He is the fourth of five children for the couple. After birth, he returned to Saint Simons Island and was baptized at Saint Simons Prebyterian Church. Wells attended Lord of Life Christian Montessori School before enrolling at Frederica Academy, a small college preparatory school on Saint Simons Island. Wells has spent his entire educational career at Frederica Academy, where he will graduate in May of 2009.

Current Leadership Positions

Wells Ellenberg is currently the student body president at Frederica Academy. In this capacity, he serves as the president of the Student Council. Wells is the secretary of the school's Honor Council, a position he has held for two consecutive years. Recenly, he was elected the vice president of the Frederica Academy Chapter of the National Honor Society. Additionally, he is the editor of the Frederica Academy Legend yearbook, where he had served as Business Manager for three consecutive years. Wells was selected as the captain of the state and region champion Frederica Academy Knights golf team, which competes in the Georgia Independent Schools Association (GISA) AA class category.

Past Leadership Positions

Wells Ellenberg served as his class president during his junior, sophomore and freshman years. Additionally, he served as the president of the Frederica Academy middle school student body, alongside being class president his sixth and seventh grade years. As previously stated, he held the title of Business Manager on the staff of the Frederica Academy Legend yearbook for three consecutive years. He served his first term as secretary of the school's Honor Council his junior year.
