Chelsea Creek is a short waterway that runs along the shore of Chelsea, Massachusetts and separates that community from the cities of Boston and Revere. The river seems to have its source near U.S. Route 1 in Revere, but the highway ramps and abutments make the precise origin difficult to pinpoint. A small stream that meanders generally westward at that point, the creek takes a sharp turn south and widens significantly as it runs between Chelsea and the Boston neighborhood of East Boston. In that area the waterway is by oil tankers to transport fuel to the metropolitan area. The creek then runs into the Mystic River, which flows into Boston Harbor.
