Cheste (Valencian: Xest) is a municipality in the comarca of Hoya de Buñol in the Valencian Community, Spain, located 26 km from the capital Valencia. The "Hole of Buñol", or "Foia de Bunyol" is located within the denominated region.

History

According to Escolano, the first settlers of the region of Cheste were members of some tribes pertaining to the old Edetania. Thus indicate the numerous deposits of several ages, as the rests founded in the hill of El Castillarejo (Iberian ceramic and spear points from the Bronze Age). The "Treasure of Cheste", formed by a set of jewels and gold and silver coins, was found in "the Safa" in 1864. Between the coins there was a denarius Sgdenham 140 (RRC 44,5 from 211 BC) employee to date it, in the second Punic war. Within its municipal term is located Circuit of Speed Ricardo Tormo.
