Yátova ( Catalan Iàtova ) is a municipality in the Comunitat Valenciana in Spain . The municipality belongs to the province of Valencia and is part of the district of Hoya de Buñol .

geography

Montratón or Motrotón mountain

The municipality of Yátova can be reached from Valencia via the A-3 ( junction 319 Buñol ) and is about 40 kilometers from the city.

The municipality is characterized by its mountainous environment, it is 420 meters above sea ​​level near the 612 meter high Motrotón mountain.

history

It was found that the area around Yátova was already inhabited in the Bronze Age .

From 1995 on, Pablo Guerrero held the office of mayor for one term, i.e. four years. He belongs to the PSOE party . From 1999 to 2003 there was a double mayor, until Raffael Lisarde Cifre won the election as mayor. He has been in office since the second term in office since 2007. Cifre is a member of the PP.

economy

The community has been living off agriculture for a long time. Mainly the carob tree, the almond tree and olives are planted in Yátova.
