Oliva is a city in the south of the Spanish province of Valencia . Oliva is located on the Mediterranean Sea, more precisely on the Costa del Azahar .

In 2019 the city had 25,101 inhabitants.

Culture and sights

The promenade runs through the city center.

There are two churches in the old town:

San Roque dates from the 18th to 19th centuries.
Santa María la Mayor dates from the 17th to 18th centuries.

There is also the Santa Anna Castle, which was built in the 16th century.

The Archaeological Museum essentially tells the story of Oliva and the surrounding area up to the Middle Ages.

Demographics

In 2011, Oliva had a population of 28,400 people, of whom 7,466 (26.29%) of the population were immigrants, with the majority from Bolivia, Ecuador, Morocco, Great Britain and Romania. Sports

In May 2012 the second stage of the Global Champions Tour will take place in Oliva. From 2009 to 2011 the horse show took place in the drained water basin in front of the Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe in the Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias .

Oliva is also a very famous place for Estonian cyclists. They have a training camp in Oliva.
