Alboraya ( Valencian Alboraia ) is a city in the province of Valencia , which is a little north of Valencia itself. The city's population grew from around 11,000 in 1986 to 24,454 on January 1, 2019. In 2006, the proportion of Valencian-speaking residents was 58%. Many holiday apartments are also being built here. The city is best known for the cultivation of tiger nuts and the drink Horchata de Chufa, which originally comes from Alboraya . At the Metro Valencia Alboraya is connected since of 2002.
