This is a list of characters in the Sly Cooper video game series.
Sean Glennon (born September 5, 1985 in Woodlands, Texas) is a quarterback for the Virginia Tech Hokies football team.

Allies
He was named the starter following the dismissal of Marcus Vick and held that job until being replaced by Tyrod Taylor during the 2007 season. After Tyrod was injured against , Sean reclaimed the starting duties and started every game since then, splitting time with Tyrod through the remainder of the 2007 season.
Cooper Gang
Sly Cooper
Early life and high school
Sly is a young adult raccoon that is the latest member in a line of cunning thieves known as the Cooper Clan. Sly is extremely agile and is able to use his skills and the help of Bentley and Murray to pull off some of the greatest crimes of the century. Sly carries a cane that has been in his family tree for generations. Most of everything Sly does involves his cane. Sly also has amazing abilities like walking on ropes, climbing pipes, and sneaking around pick-pocketing guards for keys or loot.
Glennon was born in Woodlands, Texas to John and Nancy Glennon. John, his father, had a position with Exxon Mobil that forced the family to move three times in Sean's grade-school years. From Woodlands, the family would move to New Jersey, back to Texas, then finally to Centreville, Virginia, where they would stay for Glennon's high school years. Sister, Katie also attends Virginia Tech. Brother, Mike, plays for North Carolina State University

Bentley
Sean Glennon attended Westfield High School in Fairfax County, playing all four years at quarterback, and starting for the Westfield Bulldogs in his junior and senior seasons under head coach Tom Verbanic.
This turtle, a trusted friend of the game's title character, is an expert in computer-hacking and other electronic devices. He's also quite well-read, often stating "I read about this...." when deducing something new and alien to the team. Bentley is also a loyal friend of Sly's. It is revealed in the second game that he has asthma. In the third game, he is revealed to be allergic to tomatoes and lemons. Another of his catchphrases is "If I did my math right, and I always do my math right..." At the end of Sly 2 Bentley is seriously injured and is crippled.

Murray
During his junior year, Glennon threw for over 1,700 yards and 21 touchdowns while rushing for another four touchdowns. Over the next year, his final (senior) season at Westfield High School, Glennon led the Bulldogs to the 2003 Virginia AAA Division 6 state championship. He passed for 1,840 yards, 26 touchdowns, and four interceptions during the championship campaign and added four touchdowns on the ground. Following the championship season, Glennon received numerous accolades as he finalized his search for a college choice. In total, Glennon amassed over 4,800 yards passing, 67 passing touchdowns (7th all-time in Virginia), eight rushing touchdowns, and only 11 interceptions.
Murray is a strong, muscular, but slightly rotund hippopotamus who serves as both the getaway driver and later team tough guy and fighter for the game's title character. He met both Sly and Bentley when the three of them were growing up in the same orphanage. Murray's driving skill came from his job as a pizza delivery boy, during which he hotwired cars and was eventually fired for dropping too many pizzas. Murray is quite large and has an enormous appetite. He is also unbelievably strong, although he only truly seems to realize this in the second and third games.

The Guru
He was elected to the Associated Press and Virginia Coaches' all-state teams, the Washington Post all-Metro first team, and was ranked No. 21 on the All Mid-Atlantic Team. He earned High School All-America honors from SuperPrep and PrepStar, in addition to being ranked the No. 4 high school player in the state by The Roanoke Times and the No. 3 high school player in the state by Rivals.com.
After Murray leaves the gang to find his spiritual center, he ends up in the Outback of Australia. While there, he met the Guru, an aboriginal mystic. After training Murray in the art of the Dream Time, the Guru sends him on a world-wide walkabout. After Murray accomplishes his goals in Venice, he returns to the Outback with Sly and Bentley to gain permission to end his training. However, in his absence, the Guru has been abducted by local miners, and his powers have vanished because of the intrusion. Seeking the aid of Murray and co., the Guru regains his trusty gear and powers after his new friends recover his walking stick and Moon Stone and drive the miners from Ayers Rock.

Contributing his mystic prowess to the team, Guru helps the gang destroy the local drill machines and the security copter. After the Mask of Dark Earth is destroyed, the Guru joins Sly and co. on their quest. Because of his mastery, the Guru is a pacifist, unable to directly harm anyone. Thus, pressing "Square", the attack button, does absolutely nothing while playing as Guru though he does have one form of attack and that is to possess guards and make them attack for him.
College career
Due to his numerically successful high school career and the number of awards granted him, Glennon was widely recruited by college teams eager to find a stable quarterback. Most Atlantic Coast Conference schools were among those who recruited Glennon. Glennon eventually narrowed that list down to two: Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech. After visiting the campuses of each school, Glennon made his decision, committing to Virginia Tech on August 14, 2003.

After the Cooper Vault Job, the Guru started taking students again. He even started teaching a famous rock band, (in fact, the same band shown playing at the theater where Octavio was formerly singing) which got him a lot of unwanted publicity. The last Bentley heard from him, he was hiding in Central Park, New York (figured it was the last place they'd ever look).
2004
2004 Virginia Tech Hokies football team
Despite true freshman status, Sean Glennon participated in four games during the 2004-2005 football season, playing primarily as a relief quarterback in blowouts over Western Michigan University and Florida A&M University.

Penelope
He saw his first collegiate action on September 11, 2004 in Virginia Tech's 63-0 win over Western Michigan University. Glennon went 4-for-4, completing all of his passes, including a tipped ball that was blocked, caught, and recorded as a pass from Sean Glennon to Sean Glennon. His first pass was a 34-yard touchdown completion to receiver Justin Harper, and he later would record another, 33-yard touchdown pass to backup tight end Duane Brown.
An anthropomorphic mouse, Penelope has RC flight prowess beyond even Bentley's. Discovered by Bentley in a chatroom (presumably on Theifnet as Bentley's messages mention the network) , Penelope refused to join the gang until they proved themselves to be "the best". To prove this to her, they had to beat her current employer, the Black Baron, in "his" aviation tournament. Working together, the gang shot down the Baron's plane, and Sly engaged "him" in a battle of fisticuffs-his cane versus the Baron's boxing prowess. After defeating the Baron, Sly discovered that it was in fact Penelope in disguise, using the mask of the Black Baron to enter the tournament that she was blocked from by age limits (which most fans assume that she is quite young); after Penelope won her first battle disguised, the Black Baron became a dogfighting enigma, and she found herself in a position where she would need to keep up the appearances of the Black Baron.

Penelope willingly joined the gang as their RC expert, becoming the fifth member of the Cooper Gang and the only female. She did not get involved in much physical gameplay, due to having little physical prowess. She mostly relies on her RC Chopper and RC Car to pull off her assignments. However, upon realizing her affections for Bentley, she proved her mettle by challenging LeFwee to a sword duel amid the rigging of the Death's Head's sails. This fight was actually the boss battle of the level "Dead Men Tell No Tales" of Sly 3.
His next action came in the October 16, 2004 homecoming game against Florida A&M University. Taking 40 total snaps in the game, Glennon directed two touchdown drives in the 62-0 blowout. In the game, Glennon went 4-for-7 for 58 yards.

As shown at the end of Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, Penelope helped Bentley create a new Cooper vault. Penelope and Bentley added more technological safeguards to the upgraded vault to insure the safety of the riches that the team had worked so hard to acquire.
2005
2005 Virginia Tech Hokies football team
As Marcus Vick returned from his suspension from the Virginia Tech football team to assume the starting quarterback role, Sean Glennon asked for and was granted a redshirt season in 2005. Though still the emergency quarterback who would play in the event that Vick were injured, Glennon did not play and Cory Holt took on the quarterback duty in blowouts. Glennon's only action came in the Maroon-White scrimmage game, where he went 5-for-6 for 36 yards.

Penelope's love life is shown quite humorously throughout the game. As illustrated by his wide-eyed stare and drooling at the sight of her exaggerated (tape marks are seen around her head in the picture and in Bentley's) online picture. Bentley is infatuated with Penelope, much like his friend Sly Cooper is with Carmelita Fox. Penelope is at first attracted to Sly due to his looks and athletic abilities. However, after she gets to know Bentley and he saves her from Captain LeFwee, the two begin a relationship. After Sly's disappearance, Penelope is the only member of the gang who sticks with Bentley.
2006
2006 Virginia Tech Hokies football team
Glennon was named the starting quarterback on August 13, 2006.

Panda King
In the Hokies' season-opening win over Northeastern University, Glennon completed 15 of his 18 passes for a total of 222 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He was removed from the game after the second series of the third quarter, having played the entire first half.
Born poor on the streets of China, Panda King was fascinated by the fireworks set off by rich noblemen every New Year. After spending a decade learning the art, Panda King attempted to offer his fireworks to the noblemen. However the noblemen could not see past his shabby clothes and chased him away. Enraged, he used the tools of his art for crime, becoming the Fiendish Five's demolitions expert. After acquiring the Thievius Raccoonus' section containing the blueprints of Otto Van Cooper, Panda King set up shop in the Kunlun Mountains of western China. Building a massive explosives factory, he disguised it as a large temple-like facility. In order to finance his crimes, the Panda King pressured local villages for avalanche protection. If they refused, he would set off a firework that would bring a megaton of snow down on them. Panda King finished his brand new firework technique, Flame Fu, just in time to use it against Sly Cooper. Despite Panda King's impressive fighting style blending the martial arts of his homeland with his firework skills, he was unable to defeat Sly. The Panda King was thrown in jail by an irritated Carmelita Fox.

In Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, a few years later, the Cooper Gang needs an artillery expert. Panda King joins the gang after they help him save his daughter, Jing King (who is only seen in silhouette during the game) from the evil General Tsao. At first, both Sly and Panda King were highly against this alliance: Sly because the Panda King had helped kill his father, and Panda King because Sly had humiliated him. However, after being forced out of a dream of his previous battle with Sly, the Panda King seemed to get along with the Guru, most likely because of their shared spiritual values. He is also moved by Murray's dedication to the things he cares about. He is extremely confident and boastful of his fireworks. When the Panda King is brought into the field, he conflicts with his criminal side, a sort of yin-yang split personality that takes the part of yang. He reconciles with his other half to save his daughter, despite the other's wishes to kill Sly. After Jing King is saved, he leaves her with an aunt while paying off his debt to Sly and co. After Dr. M is defeated, Panda King returns home and moves in two doors down from his daughter. Probably fearing another General Tsao incident, she allows him to screen all her suitors, and as yet she is unmarried- because her suitors are scared off by their stony, fiery-tempered possible father-in-law, as well as the fact that he is seen armed with a firework bazooka whenever one approaches the house.
In the second game against the University of North Carolina, Glennon went 10-for-16 for 66 yards.

During his initial exploits with the gang in China, a rather awkward moment between Sly and Panda King occurs, where Panda must venture into a dangerous area full of Kuang-Shi like vampire zombies. When Panda King agrees, Sly shows great reserve on the idea exclaiming loudly "There's gonna be fangs everywhere!". Judging by Sly's concerned and uncharacteristically uncertain tone, its implied in this moment that Sly has begun to open up to the Panda King and show concern for him as if he were a friend despite his role in his parents' death. This endearing quality is the main thing which converts Panda King over to the Cooper Gang's side, as he states to his evil half that if Sly is willing to put faith in him and forgive him despite his role in killing his parents, than he himself has no business carrying his vendetta over something as trivial as humiliation. However, Panda King is still the most antisocial of the Cooper Gang. He did not join the gang when Dimitri's scuba gear was unearthed, though this could be explained as him guarding the gang's ship. He also seems to have the least amount of approval for Dimitri. Of the members of the gang, he gets along best with Murray and Guru. Murray's dedication to his van inspired the Panda King to come to his aid, while the Guru seems to have a spiritual connection to him. The Panda King soon begins to accept Sly after various missions of working together, and so does Sly.
Glennon threw 3 interceptions in the final game of the season against the University of Georgia in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

Dimitri Lousteau
Glennon completed 170 of his 302 passing attempts in 2006 for 2191 yards with 11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Dimitri was a promising young art student before his corruption. He developed his own style, dubbed "kinetic aesthetic", which was merely him swinging back and forth from a rope tied around his waist and painting the canvas when he swung by. Alas, it was rejected outright and Dimitri was cast out of the art community. Infuriated, he began forging old masterpieces, his idea of punishing those with bad taste. Joining the Klaww Gang, Dimtri set up a nightclub in Paris, drawing in patrons from all around the city. Funneling illegal spice sent from Rajan into the population by covering food with it, Dimitri contributed greatly to Arpeggio's plans. In addition, Dimitri modified the Clockwerk Tail Feathers for use as printing plates. Using their unique alloy, Dimitri could create an endless supply of counterfeit money. After several missions, Sly confronted Dimitri in his lair. Sly was quickly befuddled by Dimitri's strange English, which he had learned from watching music videos. Sly responds, "I have no idea what you're saying. And your suit sucks!" Insulted, Dimitri attacks. Dodging blasts of energy from Dimitri's ring, Sly beat the lounge lizard, retrieved the Clockwork tail feathers and ruined Dimtri's operation. Dimitri was shortly thereafter arrested by Carmelita Fox and Constable Neyla. The end credits for Sly 2 show Dimitri is a dance instructor on a cruise ship. However the ending of Sly 2 was not true because Dimitri was in jail at the beginning of Sly 3. Unless Dimitri was put in jail for something else he did or he becomes this after the events of Sly 3.

Sly later ran into Dimitri in Venice during his efforts against Octavio. Seeking the missing Murray, Sly found Dimitri instead, locked up in a Venice prison. Cutting a deal, the two arranged for Dimitri to escape. In return, the former forger alerted Murray to the presence of his friends in Venice, thus facilitating the Cooper Gang's reassembly. It was retconned so that way he never became a dance instructor after Sly 2: Band of Thieves. Running into Dimitri in Holland, where he was working as an announcer, Sly requested that he help the Cooper Gang locate the lineup for the ACES dogfight tournament, giving Team Cooper a heads up on who they would be flying against so they could enact sabotage. After being pressured, Dimitri agreed, but only if the gang agreed to owe him a favor. Calling in that favor later, Dimitri summoned the Cooper Gang to Blood Bath Bay. In this pirate location, Dimitri's grandfather, Reme Lousteau, had created diving gear and stolen loot from sunken ships. However, the gear was stolen, and Reme started a family. Dimitri grew up on the stories, and vowed to reclaim the treasure. After he helps the gang beat Captain LeFwee, he joins the gang as their frog-man...despite not being asked to do so. After the gang split up, Dimitri became a professional skin diver with girls and money. The last Bentley heard from him was a postcard: "I'm here, wish you were fine-like me." To this, Bentley comments him by saying, "He's his own man."
2007
Outside of the Cooper Gang
In the Hokies' 2007 opener against the , Glennon completed 22 of his 33 passing attempts for 245 yards and one touchdown to tight end Sam Wheeler, after throwing an interception on the Hokies' first offensive snap.
;Inspector Carmelita Fox
:Her outlook on crime is very black and white and she believes that any law breaker must be brought to justice, regardless of how minor or major the infraction may be. Pursuing this vision with her shock pistol, Carmelita is rigid in this view and pursues all criminals with equal determination, from murderers to jaywalkers to thieves like Sly and company. She acts justly to her captives however, at one point making sure Sly's captured teammate Murray is doing alright in his makeshift cell and even providing a bag of jelly beans for the hungry hippo. Carmelita is devoted to her job, but she is also a very emotional woman who must work constantly to keep her temper in check. She and Sly have feelings for each other, but their relationship is portrayed rather ambiguously throughout the series.

Enemies
During the Hokies second game of the season, a 48-7 loss to the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, Glennon was pulled from the game after struggling early and replaced with true freshman Tyrod Taylor. Glennon finished the game 2-of-10 passing for 16 yards, two sacks and one interception. Once Glennon was told he would not be starting he said that he may consider transferring for his final year if he cannot win back his starting position with the team.
The Fiendish Five
Clockwerk
After back-up duty during the next few games, Glennon returned during the second quarter against after Tyrod Taylor left the game due to a sprained ankle. Glennon completed 16 of his 21 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns. Glennon's 258 yards were the third most of his career and his personal best since the Hokies' September 30, 2006 loss to Georgia Tech.

On November 1st Glennon was forced to wear a Georgia Tech jersey after 4 Virginia Tech Hokies jerseys went missing. The Hokies won the game by a score of 27-3.

Clockwerk is a thousand-year old Russian-Byelorussian-Serbian Owl who replaced his mortal body parts with mechanical ones. He has kept himself alive for over hundreds of years by having a steady diet of jealousy and hate over the Cooper Clan. Clockwerk and The Fiendish Five came unannounced at the Cooper family's door. Sly's Father fought to protect the family, but The Fiendish Five overpowered him. The Fiendish Five took The Thievius Raccoonus that contained all of the family's thieving secrets. In Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus game he is only a dark figure mostly in the game. Eventually Sly caught up with Clockwerk and put and end to his misery once Sly finish it. He returns in Sly 2 but in peices although Sly quotes that 'the threat is real'; he is constructed by the Klaww Gang and Neyla becomes part of him, forming Clock-La. After Sly and the gang bring her down, they remove the Hate Chip; the single peice that kept Clockwerk alive for all those years, Carmelita casually destroys the peice using her boot and the menace of Clockwerk would never rise again to threaten Sly or his children.
On December 1st, Glennon was awarded the ACC Championship Game MVP award after leading the Hokies to a 30-16 victory over Boston College.

2008
Muggshot the Bulldog
2008 Virginia Tech Hokies football team

Muggshot is an anthropomorphic bulldog. As a young man he was one of the "littlers". Being bullied by his bigger peers Muggshot only found solace in the movie theatres. Watching mobster movies, he saw how the heroes in the films were never bullied. Inspired he strived to be like them and started to lift weights to the point were his muscles were almost ridiculously huge. He took revenge on school thugs. Then he and his band terrorized the Mesa City, until sly has come and get rid of him. He was busted by Inspector Fox. In sly 3 he was in aces tournament. He was busted by Inspector Fox again.
Glennon started the first two games of the Hokies' 2008 season;a loss to the East Carolina Pirates and a victory over the Furman Paladins. Glennon completed 17 of his 31 passes for 181 yards, three interceptions, and one touchdown in his two starts. He was screwed over by Tyrod Taylor, who will probably replace him for the rest of the year. Glennon played briefly in relief of Taylor against North Carolina, completing his only pass attempt.

The Klaww Gang
Constable Neyla
Neyla grew up a poor child in New Delhi and scammed her way into an exclusive British university. While there, she used her strong powers of persuasion to create a homework ring of other students to do her work for her. When the ring was broken and she was discovered, the authorities were so impressed with her skills that they offered her a job at Interpol. Neyla acted as Arpeggio's protege, but betrayed his trust afterwards by merging with the Clockwork frame Arpeggio compiled and intended to merge with himself. She then became "Clock-la," the final boss of Sly 2: Band of Thieves.

Arpeggio
The Leader of the Klaww Gang and main antagonist of Sly 2: Band of Thieves. He is an anthropomorphic parrot, but he has tiny wings and an inability to fly. He planned to gain the trait of flight, along with immortality, via the Clockwerk frame, but his protege, Constable Neyla, betrayed him and took the frame for herself and crushed Arpeggio.

The Contessa
Originally a criminal psychology student, Contessa married a wealthy aristocrat. However, only a few weeks after the ceremony, her betrothed mysteriously died (The Contessa had poisoned him to take possession of his estate and money). Using her knowledge of criminal thinking and her newly inherited estate, she opened a rehabilitation clinic for criminals. She used hypnosis to cure criminals of their illegal urges, and gained a high position within Interpol. However the "criminal re-hab center" is actually a facility were The Contessa hypnotises criminals to reveal were they, as Bentley put it, "tell her where they've hidden their loot!"

When The Contessa escaped to her castle outside Prague, the KLAWW gang (which she recently was a member of) gave her the Clockwerk eyes, which she used to brainwash inspector Fox, who already knew almost everything about The Contessa's crimes.

Jean Bison was an anthropomorphic bison. A prospector from the 1850s, Jean Bison took one too many chances and wound up buried alive in an avalanche. However, in the present day, thanks to global warming, he thawed out and planned to finish what he started. A product of his time, he planned to "Tame" the Wild North, leveling the forests and placing dams on every river. Serving as Shipping Baron for the Klaww Gang allowed him to bankroll his one man war against nature.

Despite his backwards, low tech ways and old-style thinking, Jean Bison ended up with the lion's share of the Clockwork parts. Three of these parts, the Lungs and the Stomach, he attached to his Iron Horse trains, allowing them to run day and night without stopping. However, Sly and the gang were able to pull off some good old-fashioned train robberies, stealing all three parts despite his precautions.

Escaping to his lumber camp in Northern Canada, Jean Bison continued his true operation&m dash;using his giant attractor to collect the light energy of the Aurora Borealis into his Northern Light Battery for Arpeggio's blimp. He also began preparations for his Lumber Jack Games, a competition for which he put up his Clockwork Talons as a trophy. This drew Sly Bently and Murry's attenton like moths to a flame. Setting up the Northern Light Battery for their transport to Arpeggio's blimp, they entered the games.

Despite stellar performances and cheating to make Jean Bison lose (including taking the judges places when he was forcing them to give him perfect scores), the three were captured. While the Cooper Gang was in his custody and out cold from Bison's cane striking them, Bison had his men raid the gang's hideout and steal all of the Clockwork Parts that the gang had collected and sold them to Arpeggio (including the talons). Bentley was then forced into a battle with Bison. However, using the lumber camp's equipment, he was able to beat him.

According to the ending of Sly 2, after his sentence was up, Jean Bison turned over a new leaf and went to work for the EPA, and froze yet again on a mission to save baby penguins. Seeing as how Dimitri was still in jail in Sly 3, however, this ending may or may not be true. If not reformed and frozen, Bison is most likely incarcerated for his crimes.

Being quite skilled at lumberjacking, Jean Bison is very arrogant and boastful. He shows absolutely no respect for nature, as he cuts away almost all trees and puts satellites on local bears. Jean Bison also shows stereotype and prejudice because he ridicules Bentley for being a turtle. After his incarceration, he realizes how generations have changed, and he mends his ways and dedicates his time to preservation.

General Tsao
General Tsao is an anthropomorphic rooster who is obsessed with his family line, believing it superior to all others. This leads him to seek a wife from a bloodline he considers worthy. He apparently respected the Panda King during his criminal years, and thus wanted to marry the King's daughter so that his children would have the lineage of both himself and the Panda King. General Tsao is also known for being incredibly cruel, caring nothing for anyone but himself (Bentley even quoted that Tsao once kicked a puppy, twice!) . He is also sexist, believing that as a woman, Jing King doesn't know up from down. This implies that he has no respect for her, other than the prestige that his bloodline will gain by merging with the Panda Kings'.

Tsao is a powerful combatant, easily as strong and agile as Sly himself. In addition, he is a master of dark magic. In battle, he used this to unleash streams of fireballs, send waves of attacking arms across the ground, and summon dragon spirits. He later used this magic to unleash an army of vampires, and also to bring the dragon statue in his treasure temple to life, using it to attack the Cooper Gang.

General Tsao's main weapon is a shield marked with a yin-yang symbol. In battle, a spinning array of blades emerges from the rim of the shield, essentially turning it into a large buzzsaw. The shield is also the model for Tsao's master computer avatar, a computer program he set to guard his personal files. Notably, Tsao is one of the only villains who Sly and the Gang never brought down on their own, due to his resourcefulness and ability to plan ahead. While every other adversary they faced was eventually brought down or destroyed, then hauled off to jail by Carmelita, the gang was forced to flee and instead leave Tsao's capture up to Carmelita's trickery.

Black Baron
The so-called "Black Baron" is merely an alias for Penelope of the Cooper Gang.

Captain LeFwee
Captain LeFwee is one of the antagonists in Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, the final part of the Sly Cooper trilogy. Captain LeFwee is Bentley's arch-rival. Captain of the pirate vessel Death's Head, LeFwee stole the map to Reme Lousteau's diving gear and stolen loot from Black Spot Pete. This earned him the attention of Sly Cooper and co., notably Lousteau's grandson Dimitri. LeFwee proved himself a dangerous foe, booby-trapping the map's container with dust to temporarily blind Penelope and later kidnapping her on Dagger Isle.

Returning to Blood Bath Bay with Penelope as his prisoner, LeFwee found himself besieged by the Cooper Gang. After his ship's mast was wrecked, LeFwee tricked Sly into going after Penelope, when it was, in fact, a bomb made to look like her. Sly escaped, and the Guru brought in the giant squid Crusher. Bentley freed Penelope, but LeFwee knocked Bentley to the deck, preparing to kill him. However, Penelope engaged him in a sword fight, knocking him overboard and feeding the overzealous parrot to the sharks.

Captain LeFwee is incredibly self-centered, thinking of himself as infallible. It is actually a mask for his insecurity, as he quickly grows angered when it is suggested that he is second to anyone in anything, particularly in terms of intelligence (one reason why he hates Bentley so fiercely). He is also intolerant of failure and opinions that differ from his own among his underlings, and demonstrates this by putting them to death when displeased. More of an intellectual than most pirates, he would be rather refined were it not for his behavior and use of pirate slang.

Captain LeFwee was also known to be attracted to Penelope, having taken her captive and forced her into a dress, even referring to her as his 'sweet pirate flower'. His hope was that once her teammates were gone, she could eventually come to feel the same for him (and so she would become a pirate like him). However, she never felt the same way for him, as demonstrated by her facing him in a duel. Apparently, his affections for her were not entirely genuine (or his rather short patience came into play), as he engaged her atop the ship's masts, and sardonically bids her farewell, mocking her fighting skills, if the player loses.

Captain LeFwee is a brilliant strategist, having earned himself the title "Smartest Man on the Seven Seas." Prior to the Cooper Gang's arrival, he had never been bested, or even equaled in intelligence. However, for all his skill, he met his match in Bentley, who was pitted against him not only because of their roles as strategists, but because of his own feelings for Penelope.

He is also a master swordsman, surprisingly deadly despite his small stature. His sword itself is formidable—an oversized, broad-bladed cutlass. LeFwee's left hand has been replaced by a hook, and though it is never shown in the game, promotional art for the game shows the hook to possess interchangeable gadgets (like a Swiss Army knife) such as a sword blade and a corkscrew.

Doctor M
Dr. M is the primary villain in Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. Dr. M is an anthropomorphic mandrill who has tried to breach the defenses of the Cooper Vault on Kaine Island for years. However, the Vault has proved impenetrable, leading him to construct an enormous fortress around it. With his sinister genius, Dr. M has created all manner of defenses, including a force of mutant beasts. Dr. M has a large amount of knowledge on the Cooper family. This stems from the fact that Dr. M filled the role of Bentley in Sly's father's gang, rather like McSweeny filled that of Murray. It never accured to him to simply drill around the vault door.

When Sly Cooper and the Cooper Gang arrived on Kaine Island, they attempted to get past Dr. M's defenses to reach the vault. Unfortunately, his intellect proved too much for them, and they not only failed to open the vault, but also lost the Cooper cane. The Guru and Dimitri both attempted to recover it, but Dr. M was able to retrieve it using a mutated sea creature. Later, when Penelope eliminated his air defenses, Dr. M took control of a giant whale-dragonfly hybrid to attack him. He revealed his history to Sly, and seemingly lost the cane. In reality, he had attached a tracking device to it, allowing him to track Sly's movements through the vault. Going after him, Dr. M had a brief confrontation with Murray and Bentley, where he suffered defeat.

Dr. M later engages Sly in a final battle, with Sly beating him to the edge of defeat. Sly then tries to convince him that not all Coopers are bad, giving him an example on how he and Bentley's relationship works. Dr. M is confused as Sly's father was "never much of a good friend". Sly then says that all Coopers are different even if they have the same bloodline. Dr. M refuses to believe this is all true and at that time Carmelita jumps in through the window (which was another way into the vault). Seeing how Sly and Carmelita are towards each other, Dr. M then takes a shot at Carmelita Fox, only for Sly to take it and for Carmelita to finish him. Later, as the Cooper Vault collapses, Dr. M refuses to leave, and thus is crushed by falling stones. Unwittingly, he facilitated Sly's relationship with Carmelita, allowing his enemy to fake amnesia.

While originally a member of the first Cooper Gang, Dr. M felt that he was little more than a sidekick to Sly's father. Turning his back on his former teammates, he sought to steal the Cooper fortune for himself. It is quite possible, but unconfirmed, that Dr. M may have betrayed Sly's father to Clockwerk and the rest of the Fiendish Five out of spite. From this, it can be assumed that the prior Cooper Gang did not have the bonds of brotherhood that connect Sly's gang.

It is implied that Dr. M had performed some of his gene-splicing experiments on himself to become stronger-possibly using McSweeny's DNA-as he was easily able to grapple with Murray without showing signs of weakening. He has also survived damage capable of defeating even the strongest enemy, repeatedly, without slowing down or even showing the slightest signs of fatigue. He has been repeatedly zapped by Carmelita's Shock Pistol, bashed many times by Sly's cane, held into the air to receive many thousand bolts of electricity, and still manages to give Sly a concussion. He also had a computer interface built into his skull. This device, visible on his head as resembling a giant plug, allowed him to hook up to various weaponry. Among these are the largest specimens of his mutant creatures, which include:

*Mutant Primate: A giant creature that Dr. M controlled while attempting to kill Sly, it also engaged Carmelita and Lt. Gronk's mercenaries in battle. It was last seen drifting out to sea on an Interpol boat with Carmelita, who presumably defeated it.
*Mutant Fish: One of Dr. M's sea creatures, it possesses an appearance similar to that of an anglerfish. Equipped with exploding masses of gelatin, laser web generators, tentacles, and suction force, it was defeated after a fight with Dimitri.
*Whale Fly: Created from a fusion of a whale, a dragonfly, and multiple machine parts, the Whale Fly was equipped with missiles and energy field emitters. Sly was able to defeat it using the Cooper Gang biplane.

Dr. M's final weapon, which he used during his showdown with Sly and Carmelita, was a module that attached to the top of his head. Equipped with several spider-like legs, it also had a built in propeller that allowed Dr. M to fly. Other features included a missile launcher and a generator which could produce either electricity, fire, or water as attacks. Balls of all three could be released, and Dr. M could also slide across the ground to leave a trail of them. Another of his attacks involved leaping into the air and slamming down on the ground, sending out a ring of energy. When hooked up to a device in the Cooper Vault Inner Sanctum, the module allowed Dr. M to fire a powerful laser beam. After his battle with Sly, it appears Sly has broken all but two of the spider-like legs off. After Carmelita shows up and engages in a ranged battle with Dr. M, she destroys the remaining legs, thus causing him to topple over.

Sly's ancestors
Cooper Clan

Minor characters
Interpol
;Lt. Gronk
:Lt. Gronk was the leader of a team of gorilla mercenaries in the video game Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. He was hired by Carmelita Fox to help Interpol stop Octavio in Venice. Lt. Gronk and his team appear in Australia to attack Sly as he tried to climb Carmelita to pry the mask off. Lt. Gronk and his team later appear at Kaine Island to attack Dr. M's monster. All the members of his team are equipped with missile launchers and jetpacks. Unfortunately, he and his mercenaries all suffer from very bad luck. In the events of the game (as well as in the bonus cartoon Goodbye My Sweet), they have been beaten up by the Cooper Gang during one of their heists in Switzerland, tricked into fighting a losing battle against Octavio's Vincenetti gang at Venice; a sizeable group were caught in the explosion caused by the destruction of the Mask of Dark Earth in the Australian Outback, and they were all either killed or badly injured by Dr. M's giant turtle monster on Kaine Island.

;Inspector Barkley
:Mentor to Carmelita Fox and the head of her original police unit. Inspector Barkley was the one who first got Carmelita into action against Sly Cooper. Barkley was grooming Carmelita as his successor, but her temporary unprofessional attitude almost cost Inspector Fox her job and Barkley his retirement. Many years later, however, Barkley was still on the force. He arrived at the crash sight of Arpeggio's blimp and, upon seeing Sly Cooper in custody, reinstated Carmelita's revoked position within Interpol and gave her a promotion.

:Inspector Barkley is an anthropomorphic badger. He is short, overweight, and smokes a cigar.

;Winthorp
:Carmelita's executive assistant, Winthorp also has a crush on her that is hard to miss. Unfortunately for Winthorp, Carmelita's preoccupation with her work prevents her from noticing his innocent affections. To top it off, the dweeby, out-of-shape Winthorp cannot possibly compete with the charming, athletic force that is Sly Cooper. He appears only in the comics.

Criminals
;"General Clawfoot"
:An anthropomorphic old tough bat who is head of Contessa's security and who is afraid of fire and water. Murray kidnaps him and takes him to Bentley that forces the general to tell the codes to the castle gates. Clawfoot doesn't talk that much so Bentley tickles him with a feather.

;"Big Jim" McSweeney
:McSweeney is an anthropomorphic walrus who worked with Sly's father and Dr. M. He was the precursor to Murray-that is to say, he was the muscle of the previous Cooper Gang. Like Bentley and Murray, McSweeney shared a brotherly relationship with the Cooper family member he worked with. As a result, McSweeney is a sort of uncle figure to Sly. Following the schism of his gang and the betrayal of Doctor M, McSweeney had nowhere else to go, thus turning himself in to Heathrow prison. However, before doing so, he hid a map to the Cooper Vault in an Italian museum. Upon learning of Sly's continued existence after the attacks by Clockwerk and the Fiendish Five, McSweeney summoned Sly to his cell with carrier pigeons. After Sly passed his identification test, McSweeney revealed that escape from prison was not his intention. Instead, he wished to tell Sly about the map. However, he neglected to inform him about Dr. M's fortress, possibly because he was unaware of it.

:He wears only shoes and jeans, and his upper body bears several tattoos. Among these is one on his left hand depicting the museum where he hid the Cooper Vault map.

:McSweeney looks suspiciously (and perhaps intentionally) in color and species, like Whoopie the Walrus from Sucker Punch's first title, Rocket: Robot on Wheels.

;"Tony B."
:Tony B. is one of the various flashlight guards who patrol Venice under the employment of Don Octavio. His most usual guard spot is the coffee house right across from Interpol's Venice headquarters. He has the smart trick to ask fellow guardsmen what his nickname (Tony "The Killer" B.) is when they try to take the next shift at his spot.

;"First-Mate Jones"
:He used to be second mate Jones until Captain Lefwee killed the first first-mate after he disbelieved Lefwee's accusations of paranormal activity going around. He stayed with Lefwee all the way from his promotion until the rescue of Penelope by Bentley and the Cooper Gang.

;"Black Spot Pete"
:Black Spot Pete was the first original pirate settled into Blood Bath Bay in the Caribbean Archipalego. He made famous raids on other ships including stealing the prized diving gear of Dimitri's granddad Reme Lousteau. He often was partners with his friend Cantankerous Tim. However when Captain LeFwee moved in, Black Spot Pete was reduced to nothing more than drinking his sorrows away at the local pirate tavern.

;"Cantankerous Tim"
:Cantankerous Tim was Black Spot Pete's best friend and partner pirate in crime. Together they stole Dimitri's grandfather's diving gear and buried it on Dagger Island. However Tim must have been unpopular with his lieutenants as they mutinied on the fellow. Being deceased, the only physical evidence of Tim is his clothing. It can be tentatively considered that Tim's species was something at least vaguely like a raccoon—his clothes fit Sly perfectly.

;"Stone Jake"
:Stone Jake was one of the three lieutenants that mutinied on Cantanerous Tim. He took Tim's eyepatch which Sly had to steal so he could fool Black Spot Pete into thinking that he was his old partner.

;"Twitchy Ned"
:Another one of the three lieutenants that mutinied on Tim. He is very twitchy and always on the look out. He took Tim's hat so, Sly had to chase him down for it.

Criminal gangs
;Blue Viper Gondola Gang
:A trio of Italian mercenaries who are hired by Don Octavio to eliminate Carmelita Fox. They are prevented from doing so by Sly and Bentley, who steal a police gondola and sink the Blue Vipers.

;Vincenetti Gang
:Composed of several Venice flashlight guards deploying helicopter units, the Vincenettis are a group of thugs whom Sly tricks into engaging Carmelita and Lt. Gronk's mercenaries. After a pitched battle, they are put down by the police forces.

;Red Sail Sea Dog Clan
:Pirate armada who take their name from the red sails present on all their ships. They are allies of Captain LeFwee, and the Cooper Gang are forced to defeat them all to prevent LeFwee from receiving reinforcements.

Animals without character
;The "Beast"
:Named for its level "Lair of the Beast", the Beast is a giant, serpentine voodoo monster. The creature is so powerful and so dangerous that Mz. Ruby, who either created or summoned it, locked it in an enclosure sealed by an industrial strength voodoo gate. It appears to menace Sly as he makes the final sprint for one of Mz. Ruby's treasure keys and the vault, and Sly later deploys it to destroy another gate that Mz. Ruby created, thus granting him access to further missions.

;Old Grizzle Face
:A large grizzly bear who wanders around Jean Bison's lumber camp. He is ignored by guards due to being blind and practically nerve dead. However, he still possesses an acute sense of smell. Murray uses this to his advantage by throwing fish at nearby oil mains. Grizzle Face, attracted by the smell of his favorite food, uses his raw power to demolish the mains, which even Murray cannot dent. This causes combustion in oil storage containers around the camp, thus creating updrafts which Sly can paraglide on.

;Lupus Gigantormous
:Lupus Gigantormous is a massive, violent wolf who prowls the area surrounding the castle of the Black Baron in Holland. Lupus is very volatile, attacking anyone it catches sight of in its territory. Bentley was forced to overwhelm it using sleep darts enhanced with skunk balm. Once it was out, the Guru possessed him to attack the Black Baron's forces, thus ensuring fewer airplane pilots for the final round of the ACES competition.

;Crusher
:Crusher is a giant sea monster likely based on the legendary Kraken. With twelve tentacles and several enormous red eyes, it is a fearsome sight to behold. Crusher normally inhabits the deep, misty waters north of Blood Bath Bay in the Caribbean archipelego. Bentley, having heard of this creature, directed the Cooper Gang to investigate it as a possible weapon against Captain LeFwee. Upon arriving in its designated home, their ship was attacked, the masts and sails demolished by an unknown attack method. Crusher then proceeded to engage Sly and the Panda King in battle, deploying its tentacles in attempts to crush the two and pull the vessel over. Crusher's other weapon was a sort of launcher which fired flaming cannonballs of ink. Crusher was defeated, and the Guru persuaded it to assist the gang in their battle with LeFwee. Controlling the monster, Guru fought off the crew of LeFwee's ship, Death's Head, while Bentley rescued Penelope. Following that, Crusher presumably returned home.

Other
;Beverly D'Oinkeau
:An anthropomorphic pig, Beverly was Dimitri's fiancee. Beverly and Dimitri were in Monaco, throwing a party to show off a piece of artwork. Beverly is a loudmouth, and Dimitri believes her to be dreadfully annoying; he was only marrying her for her extreme wealth. Beverly D'Oinkeau only appears in the first comic, and her fate remains unknown. She is the only character throughout the series who is not involved in either crime or law.

Sly Cooper characters

Revision as of 23:07, 9 October 2008

This is a list of characters in the Sly Cooper video game series.

Allies

Cooper Gang

Sly Cooper

Sly is a young adult raccoon that is the latest member in a line of cunning thieves known as the Cooper Clan. Sly is extremely agile and is able to use his skills and the help of Bentley and Murray to pull off some of the greatest crimes of the century. Sly carries a cane that has been in his family tree for generations. Most of everything Sly does involves his cane. Sly also has amazing abilities like walking on ropes, climbing pipes, and sneaking around pick-pocketing guards for keys or loot.

Bentley

This turtle, a trusted friend of the game's title character, is an expert in computer-hacking and other electronic devices. He's also quite well-read, often stating "I read about this...." when deducing something new and alien to the team. Bentley is also a loyal friend of Sly's. It is revealed in the second game that he has asthma. In the third game, he is revealed to be allergic to tomatoes and lemons. Another of his catchphrases is "If I did my math right, and I always do my math right..." At the end of Sly 2 Bentley is seriously injured and is crippled.

Murray

Murray is a strong, muscular, but slightly rotund hippopotamus who serves as both the getaway driver and later team tough guy and fighter for the game's title character. He met both Sly and Bentley when the three of them were growing up in the same orphanage. Murray's driving skill came from his job as a pizza delivery boy, during which he hotwired cars and was eventually fired for dropping too many pizzas. Murray is quite large and has an enormous appetite. He is also unbelievably strong, although he only truly seems to realize this in the second and third games.

The Guru

Penelope

As shown at the end of Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, Penelope helped Bentley create a new Cooper vault. Penelope and Bentley added more technological safeguards to the upgraded vault to insure the safety of the riches that the team had worked so hard to acquire.

Panda King

Dimitri Lousteau

Outside of the Cooper Gang

Inspector Carmelita Fox
Her outlook on crime is very black and white and she believes that any law breaker must be brought to justice, regardless of how minor or major the infraction may be.

Enemies

The Fiendish Five

Clockwerk

Muggshot the Bulldog

Full Name: Muggshot alias "Two Gun Tony" also known as "Meathead Muggshot".

Dimitri

(See Dimitri under the Cooper Gang.)

Jean Bison

Featured in Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves

 • Mutant Primate: A giant creature that Dr. M controlled while attempting to kill Sly, it also engaged Carmelita and Lt. Gronk's mercenaries in battle. It was last seen drifting out to sea on an Interpol boat with Carmelita, who presumably defeated it.
 • Mutant Fish: One of Dr. M's sea creatures, it possesses an appearance similar to that of an anglerfish. Equipped with exploding masses of gelatin, laser web generators, tentacles, and suction force, it was defeated after a fight with Dimitri.
 • Whale Fly: Created from a fusion of a whale, a dragonfly, and multiple machine parts, the Whale Fly was equipped with missiles and energy field emitters.

Minor characters

Interpol

Lt. Gronk
Lt.
Inspector Barkley
Mentor to Carmelita Fox and the head of her original police unit.
Inspector Barkley is an anthropomorphic badger. He is short, overweight, and smokes a cigar.
Winthorp
Carmelita's executive assistant, Winthorp also has a crush on her that is hard to miss.

Criminals

"General Clawfoot"
An anthropomorphic old tough bat who is head of Contessa's security and who is afraid of fire and water. Murray kidnaps him and takes him to Bentley that forces the general to tell the codes to the castle gates. Clawfoot doesn't talk that much so Bentley tickles him with a feather.
"Big Jim" McSweeney
McSweeney is an anthropomorphic walrus who worked with Sly's father and Dr.
He wears only shoes and jeans, and his upper body bears several tattoos. Among these is one on his left hand depicting the museum where he hid the Cooper Vault map.
McSweeney looks suspiciously (and perhaps intentionally) in color and species, like Whoopie the Walrus from Sucker Punch's first title, Rocket: Robot on Wheels.
"Tony B."
Tony B. is one of the various flashlight guards who patrol Venice under the employment of Don Octavio. His most usual guard spot is the coffee house right across from Interpol's Venice headquarters. He has the smart trick to ask fellow guardsmen what his nickname (Tony "The Killer" B.) is when they try to take the next shift at his spot.
"First-Mate Jones"
He used to be second mate Jones until Captain Lefwee killed the first first-mate after he disbelieved Lefwee's accusations of paranormal activity going around. He stayed with Lefwee all the way from his promotion until the rescue of Penelope by Bentley and the Cooper Gang.
"Black Spot Pete"
Black Spot Pete was the first original pirate settled into Blood Bath Bay in the Caribbean Archipalego.
"Cantankerous Tim"
Cantankerous Tim was Black Spot Pete's best friend and partner pirate in crime.
"Stone Jake"
Stone Jake was one of the three lieutenants that mutinied on Cantanerous Tim. He took Tim's eyepatch which Sly had to steal so he could fool Black Spot Pete into thinking that he was his old partner.
"Twitchy Ned"
Another one of the three lieutenants that mutinied on Tim. He is very twitchy and always on the look out. He took Tim's hat so, Sly had to chase him down for it.

Criminal gangs

Blue Viper Gondola Gang
A trio of Italian mercenaries who are hired by Don Octavio to eliminate Carmelita Fox. They are prevented from doing so by Sly and Bentley, who steal a police gondola and sink the Blue Vipers.
Vincenetti Gang
Composed of several Venice flashlight guards deploying helicopter units, the Vincenettis are a group of thugs whom Sly tricks into engaging Carmelita and Lt. Gronk's mercenaries. After a pitched battle, they are put down by the police forces.
Red Sail Sea Dog Clan
Pirate armada who take their name from the red sails present on all their ships. They are allies of Captain LeFwee, and the Cooper Gang are forced to defeat them all to prevent LeFwee from receiving reinforcements.

Animals without character

The "Beast"
Named for its level "Lair of the Beast", the Beast is a giant, serpentine voodoo monster.
Old Grizzle Face
A large grizzly bear who wanders around Jean Bison's lumber camp.
Lupus Gigantormous
Lupus Gigantormous is a massive, violent wolf who prowls the area surrounding the castle of the Black Baron in Holland.
Crusher
Crusher is a giant sea monster likely based on the legendary Kraken.

Other

Beverly D'Oinkeau
An anthropomorphic pig, Beverly was Dimitri's fiancee.
