Frank Zupo

Frank Joseph "Noodles" Zupo (August 29th, 1939 in San Francisco, California - March 25th, 2005 in Burlingame, California) was a professional baseball player who played catcher for the Baltimore Orioles in 1957-1958 and 1961. He entered the league at age 17.

In 1957, Zupo and George Zuverink twice formed the only "Z" battery in major league history, the first time coming on July 1, 1957 when Zupo made his big-league debut with a 10th-inning catching appearance against the New York Yankees.

After Baseball

Zupo held many different jobs including a fishing guide, business owner, and wholesale leather proprietor.
