The grave of Munírih Khánum at the Bahá'í World Centre.

Munírih Khánum (d. April 28, 1938[1]) was the wife of `Abdu'l-Bahá, the son of the founder of the Bahá'í Faith, Bahá'u'lláh.

Munírih was the daughter of Mírzá Muhammad `Alíy-i-Nahrí, and spent her youth in Isfahan, Iran. After the death of her father, her family arranged for her wedding to Mírzá Kázim, the youngest brother to two Bahá'ís, Núrayn and Nayyirayn, who had been beheaded in Isfahan. However, on the wedding day the groom became ill and died soon thereafter.[2] Later in 1871 Bahá'u'lláh and his wife Navváb expressed an interest that she should become `Abdu'l-Bahá's wife, and she travelled to Acre, Israel.[3]

`Abdu'l-Bahá and Munírih Khánum were married in the house of `Abbúd.[2] Munírih Khánum and `Abdu'l-Bahá had nine children, four of whom, all daughters, survived infancy.[4]

Munírih Khánum died on April 28, 1938 and her resting place is in the Monument Gardens at the Bahá'í World Centre.[5]
