East Renton Highlands is a census-designated place (CDP) in King County, Washington, United States, located between Issaquah and Renton. The population was 13,264 at the 2000 census.

Based on per capita income, one of the more reliable measures of affluence, East Renton Highlands ranks 62nd of 522 areas in the state of Washington to be ranked.

This area has major high-end construction projects which include many new middle to upper-class residential communities and redevelopment. Many speculate that this area will become the next main area for growth in King County.[citation needed] Developers will shift their focus from the Sammamish Plateau to the East Renton Highlands. Because of this, Issaquah School District's Liberty Senior High School will undergo extensive modernizations and additions in the next few years.

East Renton Highlands is part of the potential annexation area (PAA)[1] of Renton, but in February 2007 voters defeated a 1,475-acre annexation proposal. In January 2008, the Renton City Council accepted a petition, using the 60% Direct Method, for the proposed Liberty Annexation; 193 acres located in the vicinity of 156th Ave. SE, SE 144th St., and SE 134th St. [2]
