Fear and Trembling (original title: Stupeur et Tremblement, ISBN 0312288573) is a novel by Amélie Nothomb published in 1999.

Short summary

Amélie, a young Belgian woman, who spent the first five years of her life in Japan, signs a contract for one year at the prestigious company Yumimoto as a translator.

Starts out as a long descent to hell that terminates at the most humiliating post.
