New messages

I'm a new wikipedia contributor and I added the article wik it up which you promptly deleted (citing that it was a test). I didn't intend the article to be a test when I submitted it. Did it fail some criterion for submission to wikipedia that I'm not aware of? Please let me know. Thanks, Rs564 17:34, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the information about my new submission. I'll wait until I can have sources before I try to resubmit it. Have a nice day. Rs564 17:49, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

User IP: 217.9.49.2/Lectonar

Hello fellow administrator :)). You did block the IP above for vandalism; this was correct. The problem: I use this IP too, so you sort of created collateral damage, and I couldn't reach you because I haven't got the possibility to send e-mails. I took the liberty to unblock the IP to reach you, only now realising that this may have been incorrect (and if you would like to, you may file an RfC against me for doing it).

The IP above is used by an government office in Berlin, Germany. This office is part of the social security system, and the IP is used by about 25.000 people (about a 1000 of them are doing their degrees here). I will place an explaining message on the appropriate page.

Sorry about that, and happy editing. Lectonar 08:29, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

PS: I didn't do the vandalising. :)Lectonar 08:29, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
No need to apologise, as I feel I've been bending policy a little in unblocking myself (isn't it funny that one can do this: you can't edit, but you can block and unblock yourself?) So, no RfC then ? ;) Lectonar 14:16, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Disappointed by capitalist nature

Hi there, I'm just leaving you a note to say that I am no longer going to continue to add detailed information to wiki martial arts pages - the information I have provided thus far has been copied and misused to add false credibility to a commercial school - I don't wish to provide further ammunition for these dishonest capitalists. I'm sure you'll notice this yourself if you examine the links provided from the xingyiquan article. This is a great shame - wiki provides access to information without the responsibility that comes from learning it from a teacher in the old tradition. This shall not prevent me from adding information to subjects which readers stand much less to gain commercially from. --Medains

Revert

Could you revert Special:Contributions/Diacrit? The user removed notes about foreign signs in city/location names. It's very daunting without a roll back button. Renata3 16:07, 4 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I think that User:Agraman is a sockpuppet of the same Diacrit. How do you deal with that? Renata3 16:32, 4 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
It does not look good: User:Oagafauou just few minutes ago vandalized Gäufelden in the same way. Renata3 21:52, 4 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Things really turned out to be baaad. See User_talk:Who#On-going_vandalism for 100+ of sockpuppets. Renata3 12:06, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

User talk talk Who

Advertising

Once again someone has added his favorite link to the collection of "External links" in Tai Chi Chuan. It has now become a collection of links that is more advertising than extended value to an encyclopedia. Is this something that is acceptable and accepted? Just curious. JohJak2 08:32, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for clearing that up (re:link farm). JohJak2 14:58, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

D'oh! I never think of using subst with usernameblock, guess I should. Thanks :) «»Who?¿?meta 23:43, 12 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Snowclone

I am interested in having an article for Snowclone, and I was wondering what you think. I have written a draft for the article at User:Smmurphy/Snowclone. I've looked at the different links at the protected deleted pages note, and I am not convinced that no article is appropriate. Let me know if I should put it on Wikipedia:Deletion review, if you would un-protect it, if you would like me to try to convince you that an article belongs, or if there is something else that I should do. Thanks. Smmurphy 23:54, 17 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wushu categorization

Fire Star, I would appreciate some comments about the categorization of wushu articles at Category talk:Chinese martial arts, thanks. Shawnc 03:54, 18 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Also, Category:Martial arts practitioners was getting crowded. Is it ok if we place everyone under subcategories only? (Category talk) Category:Chinese_Tai_Chi_Chuan_practitioners is already one of its subcategories. Otherwise, we can use Category:Martial arts practitioners by nationality. Tung Ying-chieh

Tung Ying-chieh

  • (cur) (last) 2005-11-23 04:32:56 Fire Star (This is the proper W-G romanisation.)
  • (cur) (last) 2005-03-24 12:12:21 LoopZilla (Tung Ying-chieh moved to Tung Ying-Chieh)

Are you saying that Tung Ying-chieh is more correct than Tung Ying-Chieh ? LoopZilla 10:17, 23 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Pilates

Please check out the last couple of edits and the associated talk page on the Pilates article. I see you contributed to it earlier on. Thanks Chelman 19:08, 24 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Videosmusica

Well, perhaps it's my style, but I tend to AGF for contributions similar to those made by Videosmusica. You can see that the account behaviour changed after 15 minutes of explanations, which is a good thing. --HappyCamper 04:00, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, no problem - I appreciated that :-) See you around! --HappyCamper 04:10, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Oops...sorry for the double post - my connection is rather delayed at the moment. Would you be able to make improvements to McDull? --HappyCamper 04:12, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting the changes of Falun Gong article

Would you please provide an explanation of why you reverted the exact quote concerning interracial relationships from Li's Sydney lecture back to Miborovsky's version? You do agree that the context is relevant, don't you? ---Swamp Olof

Order from chaos?

Please join the Wikipedia:WikiProject martial arts. I figure we'll never get the articles straightend out until we have an overall outline. See what you think of a couple things I've pulled from Chinese sources. P0M 01:10, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't realize there was a previous project. Let's work on the new one, since I've started with some Chinese sources by people who should know more about it than I do. I also have some good books in English about the history of Japanese martial arts, and that stuff may have something we can use. I'll take a look at the old project too. Thanks for helping. Hey the Arbitration Committee indefinitely blocked Haizum!

Hi Fire Star, I don't know if you remember Haizum, but he's been blocked from editing on Wiki for an indefinite amount of time, but there is no reason really specified. The only thing I can think of why is that they didn't take a clearer look at what happened when Haizum blanked out that George W. Bush article. You and I now know that he didn't mean to vandalize the page, but it looks like the committee didn't dig deep enough to see what happened, nor did they even bothered to read the discussion page. I don't know if you know of any way to clear this up, but can we somehow get him unblocked? This is really biting a noobie user! --LifeStar 06:03, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for fairness

Thank you for your fairness in adjucating the Ashida Kim issue between him and people who wish to publicize the results of investigations into his claims and statements. While we at Bullshido might not always agree with the outcomes that Wikipedia decides, we know that they come from a legit process of considering all the presented evidence.

As a result of this, I've recently started a martial arts therapy article based on research I did on the topic, and have cited proper studies regarding the topic. I hope it becomes a mainstay and frequently visited area of Wikipedia as I continue to find more information on the topic.
