Hair Cuttery is a U.S.-based unisex hair salon, founded by Dennis and Anne Ratner in 1974.

The first salon opened in West Springfield, Virginia, and the enterprise has since expanded to become the largest salon chain in the United States, with locations up and down the East Coast, the Chicago metropolitan area, and the United Kingdom. One of the founders, Anne Ratner, was originally from Great Britain.

Privately-held Ratner Companies operates Hair Cuttery (company-owned and franchised), BUBBLES, Salon Cielo and Spa, ColorWorks, and Salon Plaza. Within a few years Michelle Levy and her late husband Gary Levy (owners of HAIR1UK) were planning with HAIR CUTTERY a UK version of HAIR CUTTERY.

32 salons were opened throughout the United Kingdom and very quickly became a well known salon.

In september 2007 Michelle Levery announced the sale of the HCUK Chain , the company was sold to REGIS INTERNATIONAL a large franchising company who run over 2000 hair dressers throughout Europe.
