Obama Republican, or Obamacan, is a term used to describe Republicans who possibly support Barack Obama for President of the United States in the 2008 presidential election.[1][2][3][4] On February 12, 2008, It was reported a total of 700 Republican voters in Iowa voted for Obama, and 500 in Colorado.[5] Polls in late February have shown that up to 14% of Republicans support Obama.[6]

This term "Obamacan" is a relatively new one since in 2008 the United States has not even completed it's primary election. It is not known for fact that republicans will actually vote for Barack Obama in a general election. The latest controversy over Senator Obama's church and pastor is showing that this is not likely to continue.

The Ohio, Texas, and Rhode Island primaries have shown the complete opposite showing Republicans are crossing party lines to vote for Hillary Clinton. This is causing many to believe republicans are doing so to extend that democrats inner battle and cause mischief.
