Mason is located along [[U.S. Highway 70]]. It is the home to a federal detention facility and Bozo's, a regionally-famous [[barbecue]] [[restaurant]] which once won a [[trademark]] lawsuit against Larry Harmon, owner of the [[Bozo the Clown]] character, on the grounds that the restaurant had been using the name longer than had Harmon, and had used it prior to the person from whom Harmon had purchased the trademark. Another famous restaurant in town, perhaps more so than Bozo's, is Gus's World Famous [[Fried Chicken]], known for their secret recipe and "hot and spicy" seasoning. Gus's has expanded into downtown and suburban Memphis in the last few years.
