A meshrep (Chinese: 西) is a traditional Uighur and Central Asian autumn harvest festival. It consists of a social gathering with a feast followed by the singing of songs and recital of poetry.[1]

The banning of the traditional Meshreps by Chinese authorities in 1997, which had only been allowed since 1994, was one of the main causes of the Gulja Incident.[2]
