He has been the President of the International Association of Constitutional Law (1999-2004) and is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Constitutional Law. He was awarded the French Legion of Honor in 2004 and named to a 2007-2008 Blaise Pascal Excellence Research Chair.
