Monmouth University is a private university located in West Long Branch, New Jersey.

It was founded as "Monmouth Junior College" in 1933 and became Monmouth Collged in 1956. In 1995 it became Monmouth University.

There are about 3,500 full-time and 500 part-time undergraduate and 1,600 graduate students. It has seven schools: the Wayne D. McMurray School of Humanities and Social Sciences; the School of Education; the School of Business Administration; the School of Science, Technology and Engineering; the Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies; the Edward G. Schlaefer School; and the Graduate School.
