Motti Aroesti (born 11 July 1954; Tel Aviv, Israel) is a retired Israeli professional basketball player. He played at the point guard position. He was one of the most successful players in Maccabi Tel Aviv's history, and he was among the 105 player nominees for the 50 Greatest EuroLeague Contributors list in 2008.[citation needed]

Professional career

Aroesti played club basketball with Maccabi Tel Aviv, from 1974 to 1988. He was a key piece in Maccabi's first golden era in European basketball. Aroesti wore the Maccabi jersey for 15 consecutive seasons, and won an Israeli League title for each of those years, as well as 11 Israeli Cups. Moreover, Aroesti helped Maccabi win its first EuroLeague title in 1977, and was still the starting point guard, when his team lifted its second top continental trophy in 1981.

National team career

Aroesti won the silver medal at the 1979 EuroBasket, while playing with the senior Israeli national team.
