Template:Korean name Nam Yoo-Sun (Korean: 남 유선; born July 23, 1985 in Seoul) is a South Korean swimmer, who specialized in individual medley events.[1] She is a three-time Olympian and a two-time medalist for the individual medley events (both 200 and 400 m) at the 2005 East Asian Games in Macau, China. Nam also became the first Korean swimmer in the nation's history to reach an Olympic swimming final.

Nam made her official debut for the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, where she finished fourth and twenty-seventh overall, on the second heat of the women's 200 m individual medley, with a time of 2:22.53.

At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Nam set the nation's historic milestone, as she became the first swimmer to reach the final of the women's 400 m individual medley. Unfortunately, she finished only in seventh place by half a second (0.50) ahead of Greece's Vasiliki Angelopoulou, clocking at 4:50.35.[2]

Eight years after competing in her first Olympics, Nam qualified for her third South Korean team, as a 23-year-old, at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She won the first heat of the women's 400 m individual medley by five seconds ahead of Singapore's Quah Ting Wen, with a time of 4:46.74. Nam, however, failed to advance into the final, as she placed twenty-eighth in the overall rankings.[3]
