Newbliss (Irish: Cúil Darach, meaning 'corner of the oaktrees'), historically known as Lisdaragh (Irish: Lios Darach, meaning 'ringfort abounding in oak trees'), is a village in County Monaghan, Ireland. It is located where the R183 and R189 regional roads intersect. The mushroom growing industry provides important employment in the area as well as the laundered diesel industry.

  • Newbliss railway station opened on 14 August 1855, closed for passenger traffic on 14 October 1957 and finally closed altogether on 1 January 1960.[2]
