Species in the ''Osoriinae'' subfamily are small (about 2-5 mm of length) and basically dark-colored. Their bodies are more or less cylindrical, the heads are relatively large and wide, antennae are filiform, without club, Abdomen is long and narrow and the legs are rather short. Pronotum is relatively narrow and can be cylindrical or more or less heart-shaped. Elytrae and wings are quite short. These beetles especially occur in warm climates.
