Hajime Ishii

Hajime Ishii (石井 一, born 1934) is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party of Japan, a member of the House of Councillors in the Diet (national legislature). A native of Kobe, Hyogo, he attended Konan University as an undergraduate and University of California, Los Angeles as a graduate and received a master's degree in political science from Stanford University. he was elected to the House of Councillors for the first time in 1969 after running unsuccessfully for the House of Representatives in 1967.
