From 1960-63, Huckfield studied at [[Keble College, Oxford]], where he was awarded an MA in [[Politics, Philosophy and Economics]]. From 1963 - 1966, he worked as a lecturer in [[economics]] at the [[University of Birmingham]] whilst for a Master of Commerce degree, specialising in Econometrics and Statistics.
The Nighthawks, formed in 1995 as a charter member of the [[W-League]], a division of the United System of Inter-regional Soccer Leagues (USISL). In 1998, the Nighthawks became a founding member team of the [Women's Premier Soccer League], a national amateur league for women [[soccer]] players with over 40 teams and 6 divisions.


In 1967, at the age of 24, Huckfield was elected to parliament for the constituency of [[Nuneaton (UK Parliament constituency)|Nuneaton]] in a [[by-election]] following the resignation of [[Frank Cousins]], becoming the youngest MP (the "[[Baby of the House]]") his Agent was Jeff Place, who later became Mayor of the borough of Nuneaton and Bedworth . He was under-secretary of State for Industry from 1976-79, serving under industry secretary Eric Varley in the government of [[James Callaghan]]. When Labour returned to opposition 1979, he was opposition spokesperson on industry from 1979-81.
The Hawks also play in the Golden Gate Women's Soccer League (GGWSL), a 50+ team, 8 division regional league based in San Francisco with relegation and promotion. The Premier Division includes many women who have played Division I NCAA [[soccer]] and want to continue competing at a premier level. The Hawks are four-time champions of GGWSL's Premier Division, having won the title in the fall 2006, spring 2006, fall 2005 and spring 2005.


After being re-elected in four general elections, Huckfield did not stand when the constituency boundaries were revised for the [[United Kingdom general election, 1983|1983 general election]]. The Nuneaton seat was then won by a [[Conservative Party (UK)|Conservative]], [[Lewis Stevens]], who held it until 1992. The Nighthawks, in addition to providing a soccer program for [[San Francisco Bay Area]] women players, provide playing and training opportunities, coaching, instruction and learning opportunities for females of all ages in and around [[San Francisco]]. The Hawks organization also conducts low or no cost community soccer camps and clinics, staffed by experienced players and coaches, to teach playing and coaching skills to the community.


Huckfield was then appointed as Director of the Capital Transport Campaign for the [[Greater London Council]]. Leslie John Huckfield (born 7 Apr, 1942) is a British Labour Party politician who served as Member of Parliament for Nuneaton from 1967 to 1983 and as an MEP from 1984-1989.

From 1960-63, Huckfield studied at Keble College, Oxford, where he was awarded an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. From 1963 - 1966, he worked as a lecturer in economics at the University of Birmingham whilst for a Master of Commerce degree, specialising in Econometrics and Statistics.

In 1967, at the age of 24, Huckfield was elected to parliament for the constituency of Nuneaton in a by-election following the resignation of Frank Cousins, becoming the youngest MP (the "Baby of the House") his Agent was Jeff Place, who later became Mayor of the borough of Nuneaton and Bedworth . He was under-secretary of State for Industry from 1976-79, serving under industry secretary Eric Varley in the government of James Callaghan. When Labour returned to opposition 1979, he was opposition spokesperson on industry from 1979-81.
