Saigon: Year of the Cat is a television drama first broadcast in 1983 by Thames Television. It was directed by Stephen Frears; the screenplay was by David Hare.

It stars Judi Dench, Frederic Forrest, E. G. Marshall, Wallace Shawn and Chic Murray.

Synopsis

Barbara Dean (Judi Dench), an assistant manager in a foreign bank in Saigon in 1974, begins a relationship with American Bob Chesneau (Frederic Forrest), and quickly senses that he works for the CIA. Chesneau realises that the fall of Vietnam to the North Vietnamese is for the very near future.
