Wang Zhizhi was the first Asian person to play in the American National Basketball Association. He was previously a star of the Chinese national team. He was signed by the Dallas Mavericks in 2001, and has since played for the Los Angeles Clippers and the Miami Heat. The other Chinese players to join the NBA since Wang Zhizhi are Mengke Bateer and Yao Ming.
