First season

One sees Max, in the first season, as a ball of energy. Max was the first to meet Tyson and Kenny. He meets them by the river when Tyson attempts to save a drowning dog, but fails; thus leading Max into the rescue. At first, Kenny is somewhat suspicious of Max since he showed up out of the blue with great beyblading skills and was also somewhat jealous of his relationship with Tyson, but this soon passes. Max, along with Tyson and Kenny, agree to enter the Japan qualifying tournament being hosted by the BBA, and comes in first place in Block A. In the semi-finals, he faces Kai and loses. Even though he lost, he offers Kai his hand in order to congratulate him, but Kai scoffs and walks off; a sign of his disregard for Max's skills at the time. Once Tyson beats Kai and Ray and becomes the national champion, Mr. Dickenson forms them into a team, named "Bladebreakers" by Tyson. They then go off to compete in the championships.

As the championship battles rage on, Max especially looks forward to seeing his mother in the American tournament, who is the head director of the American BBA and coach of the [[[All Starz]]. Max wanted nothing more then to prove his strength to his mother so she would pay more attention to him and not the All Starz. Due to this, he begs the team to let him fight in the battle against them. They decided Max would battle against Micheal, the teams strongest blader. Even though statistcally, Max would not stand a chance against Michael, he perseveres and defeats him, much to everyone's amazement. The odds were against Max and he still won, proving to the All Starz they had much more work to do, and that beyblading can't jsut be broken down into a science.

Before the finals of the world championships, Kai betrays the Bladebreakers to join the Demolition Boys and embraces the power of Black Dranzer, enraging everyone on the team. When Kai challenges his old team to one final battle out in the icecaps, he manages to defeat Kenny, Tyson, and Ray. When all seemed finished, Max joined in the battle with his newly upgraded Draciel, which explains his absence in the beginning of the match. Max gives Kai a run for his money, and with the help of Dranzer, manages to convince Kai that the Bladebreakers are his friends and he should be with them; not BIOVOLT. As they make their way back, they have a run-in with the Demolition Boys, and Max chooses to take on Ian, though loses. In the process, Ian takes Max's Draciel bit-beast. He relies on his teamates to return it ot him, which Tyson does after defeating Tala and becoming the world champion. Max is also considered a champion; being on the championship team. After the tournament, he moves back to America with his mom until a little later Beyblade V-Force.

Second season (Beyblade V-Force)

Max is a happy, good-natured kid who always sees the best in everything and everyone. He is like a brother to Tyson and loves to laugh at whatever life throws at him. Max is a highly skilled Beyblader specializing in a defensive style. Max strongly believes that the key to Beyblading lies in the player, and not the Beyblade. For Max Beyblading is a family affair. He lives with his Dad who runs a local hobby shop specializing in Beyblades and his Mom is a research scientist at a top-secret BBA facility.

Third season (Beyblade G-Revolution)

Bright, cheerful and always ready to take on a new Beyblade challenge, Max is the best friend any kid could have. He is a true strategist and when it comes to battling he is a fierce competitor, always looking for a new angle or tactic to win. Max is a master of defensive moves, and what makes his methods even more interesting is the fact that his style is completely opposite of Tyson's. Max's Bit Beast is Draciel, and defense and strategy are the keys to his game. Max upgrades his beyblade to Draciel MS. He also seems to be a bit more serious than usual.

Trivia
