Águeda (Freguesia)

Águeda is a former Portuguese parish ( freguesia ). It is also the seat of the district ( concelho ) of Águeda . Águeda was promoted to city ( Cidade ) in 1985 .

The Freguesia Águeda had an area of ​​27.33 km² and 11,357 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the Freguesias Águeda and Borralha were merged to form the new Freguesia União das Freguesias de Águeda e Borralha .

geography

The city lies on the Rio Águeda , where it spreads out on a gently sloping slope of the valley, which is very wide and 31 meters deep. It is located 240 km north of Lisbon , 72 km south of Porto and 20 km east of the district capital, Aveiro .
