Ávvir ( German : attention ) is a newspaper that appears in the North Sami language and is distributed in Finland , Sweden and Norway . The newspaper was created through the merger of the two North Sami newspapers Min Áigi and Áššu .
The newspaper is currently published three times a week. A four to five publication frequency is planned for the future.
The first edition of Ávvir was published on the occasion of the Sami National Day on February 6, 2008. The newspaper's editorial offices are located in Kárášjohka and Guovdageaidnu .
