Åke Magnus Andersson (born April 22, 1917 in Gothenburg , † July 20, 1983 there ) was a Swedish football player . The winger or half-forward came in his career in addition to 165 games in the Allsvenskan , Sweden's highest football league, to twelve international appearances for the Swedish national team .

career

Andersson began playing soccer at BK Forward before joining GAIS in 1935 via Elisedals IS . There, "Carnera", as his nickname was, made his debut in the Allsvenskan. In his second season at the club from Gothenburg he was able to fight for a regular place in the storm. In 1937 he rose with the club in Division II . After a season in the second division, he left the club and Gothenburg.

Andersson returned to the first division and was hired by AIK . Here he was able to fight for a regular place straight away. He ran for the club in the Allsvenskan for seven seasons. He let his career end in 1946 at the lower class Rålambshovs IF .

Andersson was a Swedish national player between 1937 and 1941. He played a total of twelve international matches and scored two goals. At the World Cup in 1938 he was part of the national team and came in the game for third place against Brazil to his only tournament game.

Remarkable

Andersson's brother Folke played briefly in the Allsvenskan for GAIS in the 1946/47 season.
