The Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ) was founded 1992nd It emerged from the former external faculty for education of the Trakya Üniversitesi on the Anafartalar campus . The name Onsekiz Mart , German “18. March ”is derived from the date of the victory in the Battle of Gallipoli .
The university has nine faculties and 15 affiliated technical schools and academies.
