Émile Magne
Émile Magne (* 1877 in Dax , Aquitaine , † 1953 in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés , Île-de-France ) was a French art historian and literary critic.
Life
After studying in Bordeaux and graduating from the Sorbonne in 1898, he made his first literary study of documentation errors in Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac . This was followed by a series of further researches and reviews, especially of the literature of the 17th century. His work comprises over 50 volumes. In addition to numerous other honors, he was commander of the Legion of Honor .
