Ísafold (1874)

Ísafold was an Icelandic newspaper . It first appeared on September 19, 1874.

The newspaper had four pages and initially appeared about every two weeks, ending about once a week. The publisher and editor-in-chief was the politician Björn Jónsson . He ran the newspaper until he became Prime Minister of Iceland in 1909 . Afterwards his son Ólafur Björnsson ran the newspaper, who in 1913 founded the newspaper Morgunblaðið with Vilhjálmur Finsen . On December 31, 1929, the last edition of Ísafold appeared, which then merged with Morgunblaðið.
