The Île Laplace is a small and rocky island off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It is located 500 m west-northwest of the island of La Conchée and 12 km north of Cape Mousse .
Participants in a French Antarctic expedition, which lasted from 1950 to 1951, mapped the island and named it after the French astronomer and mathematician Pierre-Simon Laplace (1794-1827).
