The Carrel Island ( French Île Alexis Carrel ) is a small, 400 m long rocky island off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It is located 170 m south of the Pétrel Island in the Géologie Archipelago .
French scientists mapped it during a research trip that lasted from 1949 to 1951 and named it after the French Nobel Prize for Medicine Alexis Carrel (1873–1944).
