The Île Midwinter ( French ) is a small island in the Géologie archipelago off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It is located east-southeast of Cap André Prud'homme in the Baie Pierre Lejay .
French scientists named them after the fact that the first gravimetric measurements of them were carried out here at the Antarctic winter solstice on June 21, 1958.
