The Île du Chameau (French for camel island ), also known as Chameau Island , is a rocky and 160 m long island off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It is located 1.3 km east of Cape Découverte in the group of the Curzon Islands .
Participants in a French Antarctic expedition that lasted from 1949 to 1951 made a map and named the island. It is named after the shape of the island, which with its two elevations is reminiscent of the humps of a trample .
