The Cape Découverte (from French découverte 'discovery' ) is a headland on the coast of the East Antarctic Adélielands . It marks the northwestern end of the group of Curzon Islands .
It was discovered and named during the Third French Antarctic Expedition (1837-1840) under the direction of the polar explorer Jules Dumont d'Urville . The cape was the first mainland brand that the expedition participants saw.
