The Marégraphe Island ( French Île du Marégraphe ) is a small rocky island off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It is located 80 m west of the northern end of Carrel Island in the Géologie archipelago .
French scientists mapped them during a research expedition that lasted from 1949 to 1951 and named them after a mareograph installed on the island to record the tidal range .
