description
The brook rises on the southern slope of Hutungsberg on the southern outskirts of Neugersdorf and flows south through the Neugersdorf city forest. There the Kaltbach becomes part of the state road S 148 from Ebersbach / Sa. after Oberhennersdorf (Horni Jindrichov) crosses and flows east of the state road S 140 from Neugersdorf to Seifhennersdorf then through the forest, where the Erleborn water from the Höllengrund flows into two nameless ponds.
At the former Neugersdorfer waterworks, the Kaltbach reaches the Seifhennersdorf district. There the S 140 crosses the stream, which is then dammed in the pond at the pumping station and past the former restaurant "Waldschlößchen". The quartzite dike , which is up to 50 m thick and stretches from Schluckenau to the White Stone near Spitzkunnersdorf , strikes this section . In the vicinity of the Waldschlößchen there are remains of former quarries on the corridor.
The Kaltbach then flows in a south-easterly direction at the north-eastern foot of the Jockelberg under the S 140. The Kaltbach feeds three nameless ponds on Viebigstrasse. To the north of the Kaltbachtal is the Silberteich forest pool, south of the Viebigstrasse industrial park and the Volksbadsiedlung. The lower course of the Kaltbach, protected as an area natural monument, runs west and south of the Hart lifter, while the brook flows through the Seifhennersdorf locality of Harthe and is crossed by the Mittelherwigsdorf – Varnsdorf – Eibau railway line. The Kaltbach flows into the Leutersdorfer Wasser on Mönchsbergweg in the Seifen area .
