history

The ÖKK Foundation was established in 1996, but its roots go back to around 1900. As in the rest of Switzerland, smaller and larger public health insurances emerged in the canton of Graubünden. Since the Second World War, 39 independent regional health insurance funds have been working increasingly closely together in the canton of Graubünden. In 1996, after the KVG came into force, they decided to found the ÖKK Foundation, which was also joined by ÖKK Winterthur in 2004 and Flaachtal health insurance in 2009.

Up until a few years ago there were several insurers called ÖKK that worked together in an association. Over time, ÖKK Ostschweiz became Carena, ÖKK Luzern became Xundheit and ÖKK Basel became Sympany. Today there is only one ÖKK based in Landquart. The name "ÖKK" no longer has a specific meaning.

offer

ÖKK offers insurance solutions in the areas of illness, accident, loss of earnings and occupational pensions. Together with partner companies, ÖKK also covers the areas of life, liability and property insurance.
