Transport and economy
Landquart is an important traffic junction and industrial location on the southern bank of the river of the same name . The Landqart security paper mill is the manufacturer of the paper for the Swiss franc banknotes and supplier to numerous other national banks . The Plantahof agricultural training center is also important .
The Landquart train station is known far and wide, and is used by the standard-gauge Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) to switch to the meter-gauge Rhaetian Railway to get to Prättigau and Davos or the Lower Engadine . The Landquart – Davos line is the oldest, and the extension into the Lower Engadine is the newest of the Rhaetian Railway. The SBB (without stopping) and the RhB (regional trains) run side by side to Chur.
If you want to get to the Prättigau on foot, take the path from the train station to the Prättigauer Höhenweg , which runs along the entire Rätikon chain.
