Valentin Bearth
Valentin Bearth (born March 25, 1957 in Tiefencastel ) is a Swiss architect .
Life
Valentin Bearth studied at the ETH Zurich and graduated in 1983 with Dolf Schnebli . After working for Peter Zumthor , he founded the architectural firm Bearth + Deplazes in Zurich together with Andrea Deplazes in 1988 . In 1992 he was elected full professor at the Department of Architecture at ETH Zurich. In 2000 he was appointed professor at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) by Mendrisio . From 2007 to 2009 and 2009 to 2011 he headed the Accademia di Architettura there ; his successor was Mario Botta . Since 2003 he has been a permanent visiting professor at the Università di Sassari in Sassari , Sardinia .
