Ödön Gróf

Ödön Gróf (born April 15, 1915 in Neteca ; † January 16, 1997 in San Francisco ) was a Hungarian swimmer who took part in the Olympic Games in 1936 and won a bronze medal there because he was in the 4 × 200 meter Freestyle relay took third place. He had previously become European champion over the same distance when he swam alongside Ferenc Csík , Árpás Lengyel and András Marthony in 1934 . Twice, on June 26, 1937 and July 14, 1938, he was part of the 4 × 100-meter freestyle relay that improved the world record. At the Olympic Games in 1936 he also competed in the individual over 400 m and 100 m, but could not reach the next round on both occasions.
