Ödön Pártos (born October 1, 1907 in Budapest , Austria-Hungary , † July 6, 1977 in Tel Aviv ) was an Israeli composer of Hungarian origin.

Pártos studied in Budapest with Jenő Hubay and Zoltán Kodály . He was concertmaster in Lucerne , from 1928 to 1933 in Berlin and from 1935 to 1937 in Baku . Then he emigrated to Israel, where he was principal violist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra . In 1951 he became head of the Israeli Music Academy, in 1961 professor at Tel Aviv University .

He visited Germany on June 15, 1960 on the occasion of the 34th World Music Festival of the International Society for New Music , which was held that year in Cologne.

He composed symphonic sets , a symphonic elegy and a symphonic fantasy, numerous concertos, including two viola concertos and Yehudi Menuhin dedicated Violin Concerto, an Arabesque for oboe and chamber orchestra that of Heinz Holliger was premiered, Maquammat for Flute and Strings , a psalm setting , a Fantasy on Yemeni themes for choir and orchestra, a cantata and songs. Pártos was awarded the UNESCO Art Prize in 1952 and the Israel Prize in 1954 .
